RAPE, THE FLAW OF THE NATION.

Rape is the most common crime in India against women. According to the 2018 annual reports of the “National Crime Records Bureau” (NCRB), 33,356 rape cases were reported across our India, or an average of 91+ rapes daily. Of these, 31,320 were committed by perpetrators known to the victim (93.9% of the cases). As high as 27.8% of victims were minors or below 18 of age, the legal age of consent. India has been illustrated as one of the “countries with the lowest per capita rates of rape”. But the real figures are widely approximated to be much higher as a significant percentage of rapes goes unreported.

One rape is reported in every 17 minutes in India. In 2018, the national average rape rate (per 1,00,000 population) was 5.2, the same as the previous year. Chhattisgarh (14reports) Tamil Nadu (0.9), Bihar (1.1), and Nagaland (1.0) had the lowest rape rates even though it is still very high.

India recorded an average of 87+ rape cases daily in 2019 and overall, 4,05,862 cases of crime against women during the year, a rise of over 7% from 2018, the latest government data released on September 29, 2020.

A total of 32,033 cases of rape was lodged in 2019, which was 7.3% of all crimes against women during a year.

What is wrong in our Society

Section 376 of Indian Penal Code is available for the  punishments for rape and there are many provisions to protect women  in our countries, but none of them is followed properly. And without proper execution of these provisions it feels like these are made just for the name.

Despite increasing rape cases, no attention is being paid to them and no strict punishment is being consider for them, to control the raising rate of rape the deterrent theory of punishment should be applied in which the offender must be punished in a manner by which other potential offender of same crime may not dare to attempt that offence

There are so many cases of rape every day, but in most of them no justice is being served in proper way. And even if in some cases justice being served it takes a very long time and as we already knows “justice delayed means justice denied”. India is said to be a free Country but what kind of freedom is this where a cannot even walk out of her home safely.

The number of Divorce happens 14 in a year but number of rapes is 14 in 1 minute. But still, the people of this country want a law on divorce but not on rape.

Actually, our country is not a properly free, even today because freedom stands for that people can spend their life free and safe. And the freedom of that country does not make sense for a country where girls cannot live their life freely due to fear of their safty. Today, girls are afraid to leave their homes.

You should need to think about it.

What is wrong with the people?

People are demanding justice for the rape cases but by putting a status on their phones and carrying out candle Marches.

Those girls (victims) cannot get Justice by applying for status on the phone or taking out candle marches.

There is a trend in Indian citizen, After the rape case in India, people raise their voice against it for a few days but then gradually they all start to calm down and then forget the case that something like this had ever happened.

People can do a lot of things, but they all depend on each other, who will initiate?

Yes, it is true that a single person cannot do anything, but someone has to start.

If some people even tries to raise their voice against rape, then their voices get over by the other strong voices of the people of their surroundings. If a girl wants to raise her voice against it, she cannot raise it because the biggest obstacle comes that you are also a girl.

What is wrong with the media-

If the media wants, it can do a lot. But they are also not doing their work properly. Bitter but true, only those people are in trending, who are famous, media only focuses on them no matter what happens with the society does not get focused.

In the recent Hathras case, people are knowing that accident as Dalit Rape Case. It does not matter whether he was a Dalit or not. It matters that, she was a girl, she was someone’s daughter and someone sister. The word Dalit has turned the focus of the case around.

Rapists have no religion, no caste. They are just worse than wild animals. Wild animals are also better than them.

What is wrong with people’s thinking?

Where there is any rape case, so most people think that there must be some mistake of girls too like she must be wearing short dresses or must her actions or her character must have been questionable.

A question for all those people, why do girls who have not even completed a year of age gets raped?

Speechless…?

Every single girl in India is afraid to get out of the house. Why does she get afraid as the sun downs or when the night raises? Why every day she is forbidden to go out of the house after evening? Why does not someone locks boys in their houses?

Everyone chants “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, but will any daughter survive this way?

Would anyone want to have a daughter in such an environment?

Today, every father is afraid for his daughter. Seriously, any mother or father would like how their daughter dies, but must not suffer or go through from such cruel incident.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it
to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and
it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I
know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
